Introduction:
- Gather the students on the floor.
- Ask them to reflect back on what has been discussed in class about cultural diversity.
- How is cultural diversity projected in food? What about in the media?
- Tell the students that today they will look at cultural diversity and the school environment.

Development:
Class Discussion:
- Have a class discussion about how cultural diversity is demonstrated in their school.
            - Are students ignoring other classmates?
            - Are there groups or ‘clicks’ formed in the school, forbidding others to join?

Brainstorming ideas:
- Separate the class into small groups of 3-4 students, and ask them to brainstorm how their school is projecting cultural diversity.
            - Pass out a sheet of paper and ask them to write down ideas.

Developing skits:
- Inform the students that they will have to act out how the cultural diversity is projected in their school, as well as how it should be projected (if they think it is not projected correctly).
            -  They will have to do two little acts.  One being about how cultural diversity is
in the school.  The other being about how they think it should change.
-  Remind the students that their skits must be creative and original.
            - Inform the students that they will be graded on their skit.  Display the Rubric
on the Smart Board (see the attached file at the top of the page).
            - Notify them that they must have 2 different skits, each being a minimum of
                2 minutes.
            - Their skits should be creative and original.
            - All members should be incorporated in both skits.
            - Remind the student that they should speak loud enough for everyone to hear
                them.

- Give them time to practice their skits.

Acting out skits:

-  Allow every group to act out their skit.
            - Inform the students that they must respect their classmates that are
                performing.
            - They must also pay close attention to everyone skit, because there will be a
                discussion at the end.

Conclusion:
Class Discussion:
- Once all the groups have finished their performance, have a class discussion about what they observed.
- What have they learned from the other skits?
- Has their definition or perspective of cultural diversity changed in any way? How?
